Abstract

Purpose: This study was to describe perception and performance of health assessment among public health practitioners in rural area.

Method: The sample size was 166 persons. Collected data were analyzed using the SPSS PC+ WIN 12.0 program to analyze the responses to the self-report questionnaire.

Results: Public health practitioner"s performance of health assessment was low level. There were significant differences according to clinical experience, clinical department. The major barriers to performance of health assessment were a lack of familiarity with the skill and lack of available equipment. There was statistically significant correlation between perception and performance of health assessment.

Conclusion: The finding provides directions for future training, education policy to improve performance of health assessment.
